This is what flying used to be like on United and American. But those people have completely forgotten what service is. Qatar is a 5 star airline. United and American, to my view, are 2 star at best."

Výhody: "I travel from Sydney to Europe (UK and Greece) regularly. My experience with Qatar airways was fantastic: I highly recommend it. First of all, the travelling hours are a bit shorter (compared to travelling via Singapore or Hong Kong) probably because of the geography of the cities/connections and the corresponding flight times between Athens-Doha-Sydney. The aircraft was exceptional (I believe it was Airbus A380). It was a double-deck, wide-body and four-engine jet airliner. Cabin and economy class seats were very comfortable and more spacious compared to other aircraft. There was minimal turbulence, which is partially due to the type of aircraft: at least this is my understanding. The aircraft also had wi-fi (complimentary for the first 15 min) and one was allowed to use the mobile phone during the flight (except during take off and landing times). The flight attendants were absolutely amazing. Also, the crew was very understanding and friendly with children. Food was also excellent and in good portions. Overall there was high tech aircraft, excellent service and no delays. I will choose it again in the future."

The flight attendants tried to sort it out, but it was not possible. They kindly brought complimentary magazines and drinks/snacks, however it would have been much preferable if I could watch a movie or if free wi-fi was offered for the whole flight, as compensation.. My understanding is that this was not an option, due to problems providing free password..."

The only currency exchange is on the other side of passport control so you have to use one of the ATMs and they only give you $100. The staff is unprofessional and seems clueless when you ask them for help. The kiosks are a nightmare and working with them is worse than working with the people. They freeze, and glitch and many of them just flat out don't work. Probably one of the worst airports I've ever been to."

Výhody: "Flight from New York to Istanbul was okay and the meals were good, but tight seating with very little legroom. I was surprised because they advertise they win gold awards in Europe for service and comfort. When I flew my European leg I understood. The flight from Istanbul to Prague had 4 inches more legroom and the seat seamed wider. They won't win any awards for their Atlantic crossings."
Nevýhody: "Turkish is a terrible airline in many ways. My 90 year old parents were traveling on this flight, and because they have difficulty walking, I had ordered wheelchairs for them. Since on the in-bound flight they did not get assistance during the layover in Istanbul, I called on multiple occasions to their customer service to complain. I was directed towards their website where I had to fill out a complaint form - of course the form is simply to allow customers to vent - no one contacted me to apologize or remediate the situation. On their return journey, I once again confirmed over the phone and at the check in counter that the wheel chair assistance would be available. I was able to secure this for the first leg, however that was it. They were once again left high and dry during the Istanbul layover. They have lower prices, but the quality of customer service is very inferior. If you can afford to pay a bit more - avoid using Turkish. If you do use - certainly be prepared to have any special requests ignored and to be confronted by inefficient customer service."

We were only able to rebook by calling the Lufthansa call centre and had to spend a very uncomfortable overnight at the airport without any certainty of when we would fly out. Lufthansa finally got us out on the same flight as booked but 24 hours later. And then, of course, they lost our luggage. Terrible overall experience."

The crew ended up gate checking one for me in Frankfurt which was nice. But I would have paid not to carry that dumb thing around with me through the giant Frankfurt airport. Other than the one desk woman in Prague, everything else was good."
