Rude staff late departure uncomfortable seats no entertainment

Flight cancelled, rebooked for next morning… Outgoing flight was also late and personnel a bit brutal… See Twitter remarks. Much progress to do!

This was a code share operated by United with a 787. Don't care for the herringbone 2-2-2 seating in business, many other carriers have gone to a 1-2-1 which is better. Food wasn't much better than economy but what really counts is lie flat seats.

Food quality was poor as well. during booking there was not an option to indicate dietary requirements either. not impressed with austrian air overall."

Nevýhody: "First I lost my United Airlines flight because of security reasons. I checked in Guatemala but I was delayed at the Airport's security too long, it was beyond my control. Consequently I got to the boarding gate right when they were closing. Consequently I lost all my connections from then on. The United Airlines was very empathizing with me and my situation and they issued me other boarding passes at no cost. United Airlines suggested me to tell the Austrian Airlines about what happened and they were sure the Austrian Airlines would understand but they were wrong; no understanding on behalf of the Austrian Airlines."
Výhody: "Make sure your carry on luggage is less then 8 kg. Or you would have to check it at your own cost. The food is OK but the portion is very small. If you want a window or isle seat, it would’ve cost you 30 euro to reserve it. The crew is very nice. I guess because the air fare is very cheap, they need to do everything to make the extra cash."

Výhody: "Hi there, the gate for the flight was changed at the last minute and I missed the connecting flight from Frankfurt to Vienna. I was told by staff that there would be a 300 Euro fee, plus the cost of the next flight. This broke my heart. why I wouldn't I simply be put on standby and get on the next flight? I ended up travelling by to Vienna by train, over the course of the next several days. I am a lone woman with a developmental disability, travelling to Europe for the first time. It was very disappointing to be treated this way. Thanks for reading."

Nevýhody: "Waited longer to start boarding the plane than the flight took. There are 2 gates in Lugano "airport" and no plane or flight at the other gate. Shouldn't be this difficult. The inflight crew was nice and attentive for the little time we saw them but the ground crew never ev n bothered to make an announcement. Just had us sitting there like a heard of cattle."

No back button so, if you made a mistake you had to start from the beginning. Passport reader was not working properly. Machines were slow and delayed in responding. Not enough staff available for assistance. Arrival at LAX was even worse. Plane had to taxi for 30 minutes all about the airport runways. Finally got to a gate -almost on the beach! Then had to bus everyone to main terminal. Slow in getting bags to the passenger pickup. It took us 2 hours post touchdown to get out of the airport! Almost missed the airport shuttle,"
Výhody: "Even though I was very disappointed at what the Austrian airline did to me, the staff and crew and captains where professional and the flight was comfortable especially on Lufthansa. However, I missed the experience of enjoying the flight with the group of people that I joined on the way to Vienna and to Egypt."
Nevýhody: "I didn't like the fact that they cancelled my Austrian flight to a completely different company (Lufthansa). I paid extra money when I reserved the tickets in the USA to make sure I am on the same plane as the other three families that i wanted to be with as a group. They had reserved their tickets and I got the flight numbers and when I reserved my booking I paid extra to be on the same airplane as the rest of the group. My plan worked going to Vienna and to Cairo (although one of the planes were delayed 3 hours which ruined our stay in Vienna) but on the way back from Cairo to LA, I couldn't be with the group because I left 2 hours early and arrived in LA 2 hours late. I pleaded that I came with a group but they said I have a different booking so they couldn't honor keeping me on the same plane as the group. I am very disappointed and will avoid my future travel with Austrian airline"
Nevýhody: "We flew from TLV to Skopje via Vienna. None of the flight were on time and there was zero communication about the flight status. We arrived to the gate to start the boarding and they just told us wait here for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes we were asked to wait another 20 minutes. Only when we missed the take off time by 10 minutes they bothered to update us and inform us that the flight is being delayed in 2 hours."
Nevýhody: "I used flights between Vienna and Prague several times and in most cases they are delayed."
Výhody: "The plane was comfortable even in economy. The crew were helpful and professional. Good food."
Nevýhody: "We were boarded and then told we had to sit on the plane for 45 minutes before take off. It's possible this way beyond the crew's control, but still would've been better to wait in the airport. Also, the movie selection was smallish compared to some other airlines."
Nevýhody: "Behavior of AA. We came with AA from Nica to Wien on time and AA did not allowed us to take plane to Zagreb. They changed to latter fly with CA. Shameful and inadmissible !"

Nevýhody: "On the arrival at Toronto, there was no one at the gate to roll out the gangway bridge. So we waited on the plane 10 minutes. We were flying on to LAX on Air Canada. It took 1 3/4 hours for our luggage to clear the US Customs pre check. Unsatisfactory."

I do not know how, but, rude crew and counter personnel is here, rest of things looks pretty standard without any difference with other airlines, that was not the case in the past

Nevýhody: "Seats were atrociously uncomfortable for a 6'1" man. Less than zero leg room due to ridiculously tight row spacing and non-reclining seatbacks. Had to attempt to cram in sideways - resulting in serious pain by the time the flight finally landed. Intercom system, especially from the captain, was painfully grating and loud. Boarding was extremely slow, in part because gate personnel made no effort whatsoever to police and enforce the four-group boarding process (premium - no carry-on - group A - group B). People boarded whenever they felt like it, many carrying on huge backpacks and multiple other pieces. Will definitely avoid TAP in future."

Nevýhody: "It took a long time to board the plane and there was literally no line at the boarding gate. When I mean there was no line, its not that there were no people, its that we stood grouped together, because there was not enough space for everyone, so no line could form. So people simply cut in front of each other and there was quite a bit of anger and tension.Once we were on board, and seated, they came through and provided a meal. However after about 3 hours, I wanted to get some water to take medicine and I pushed the call light to get the flight attendant to come over and it was literally 45 minutes before anyone came into the economy portion. All of the flight attendants were either in first class, or hiding somewhere else. As one point 5 call lights were on and no one came. My wife got up and started looking for someone and finally I got water to take my pills. Almost an hour after I hit the call button. When the flight attendant came, I asked her if it was possible to purchase a soda, crackers, or anything as my blood sugar was low. She said there is nothing available for purchase, and did not offer anything. The only help I received was from a fellow passenger who offered a candy bar. I can not believe that there was nothing the attendant could offer me. I was willing to pay 10 euros for a soda, and they still said no. That is unacceptable."

Nevýhody: "Boarding at Lisbon airport was one of the worst experiences. Passengers were asked to line up at least 30 minutes before boarding started and it was hot in the terminal. As boarding started, passengers were split into groups by boarding zones...premium passengers boarded first as expected, then people with small bags. This is where the problem was because a group of four passengers who had one small bag (that could fit under seat) were allowed to go before passengers in boarding zones A/B. The whole idea is people who could fit bags under their seat would board first, but the tap team made a mess and allowed many passengers with large bags in as well. I was one of the last ones to be boarded and stranded on the line for over 40 minutes with my backpack...after traveling for a month and being delayed in Rome, last thing you want is stupid mistakes like this to cause you stress."

Nevýhody: "The videos weren’t working, so we had no flight entertainment. I didn’t realize I had to pay $105 USD for my ONE 25 kg bag since it wasn’t on their website nor was I told at check-in. They called my name at the gate and told me I had to pay for it. The food wasn’t that great— my potato, or maybe yucca?, was rock hard, and the chicken needed a lot of salt. The seats didn’t decline that well, and the temperature was either freezing or really hot."

The seats are incredibly short in length, zero room for a 6’3” person. I was terribly scrunched up and uncomfortable. Knees are raw from rubbing the back of the seat in front of me. I’ll be watching flights to be sure I never take this model of plane again or chooses another airline."

Nevýhody: "Our flight leaving Boston was delayed by 2 hours due to a mechanical issue. So, we missed our connection in Lisbon to Venice (our final destination). We were rerouted from Lisbon to Rome and then to Venice, turning our 2 leg journey into a 3 leg flight. We were offered just 16 euros worth of food vouchers for our trouble. We asked for lounge access because missing our connection meant we had to cool our heels in the Lisbon airport for 3 hours until our flight to Rome took off. We were told we'd have to pay for the lounge! Then, our flight to Rome was delayed. We stood at the gate for 40 minutes past boarding time. No staff even announced that the plane was delayed or how long we should expect to wait. When we finally got to Rome, we had 10 minutes to make our connection to Venice. We lost an entire day in Venice."
Nevýhody: "Flight to LIS was delayed 2.5 hours, missed BCN flight. I was given a new flight, but boardng pass was canceled at gate. I'm stranded!"
Výhody: "There was good variety of films and food was decent."
Nevýhody: "(1) TAP has terrible customer service and support. Was told on check-in that flight did not include checked luggage which is bizzare/unreal for an international flight especially since I also paid to upgrade my ticket. Even in explaining to me the person on the phone was rude. This was very disappointing as I had such an amazing trip to end on this sour note. (2) The boarding process took forever. They made us line up about 45 minutes before we actually boarded. So we were all standing around as opposed to being seated in waiting area. We did not board until after our take-off time. (3) Seats were really tight, uncomfortable and don't recline much."
Výhody: "Both check ins (to and from Boston) the staff were rude. No information, just alot of speaking Portuguese to other staffers while my family and I stood there. The flight and crew were good, clean, kind and efficient."
Nevýhody: "There was a strike in Lisbon. Thousands of people trying to go through security and four people working the booths. Plus NO information. Just chaos, bad feelings and HOURS of standing in lines. Stressful. Will NEVER go to Lisbon again."

And even that one didn't play through....apparently, at some point they determine its "bedtime" and turn off the IFE!! Crazy in this day and age!!! Also, the plane is old and REALLY worn. Lots of dirt, tired seats, yucky bathrooms, etc. This plane needs an overhaul!! No storage anywhere in the seats either, which was shocking. And the angle lay flat seats are certainly fantastic in comparison to Coach seats, but still hard to sleep and get comfortable."

That flight was delayed (they didn't have enough room in the plane for luggage and were scrambling to put things below). Once we arrived in at our second location, we sprinted through the airport but arrived at our gate with 10 minutes to spare only to be told that the entire flight was full and that we were not able to board. We asked- how this was possible? We are here on time, we have booked our tickets months ahead of time, and there is no one else here at the gate... it made absolutely no sense. All the staff people did was shrug their shoulders and said that they couldn't help us and that we had to go to the transfer station. My friend and I were upset- by missing our flight we were losing our last night in Barcelona, seeing our friends, etc. before heading back to the United States. Once we got to the transfer station, we were even more confused and upset however, because the staff person there told us that in fact our seats were available and that there was no reason why were not allowed on the flight. However, she shrugged her shoulders and told her that there was nothing that she could do. She offered us a $10 meal card, booked us for the next flight 3 hours later (which put us in Barcelona late at night, way too late to see the city or our friends), and offered us absolutely no help in getting a refund. We asked to see the supervisor and after waiting another half an hour he came out and told us the story about how the staff person in Marrakesh put us as "no shows." This was a complete system failure, however he offered us no refund, no support, beyond telling us to go on the website and filling out a form. Once we got internet, we tried to get to the form- link broken. We called the help line, and after waiting another 20 minutes, we got connected to a woman who said that she couldn't help us- we had to go to the transfer service desk and fill out a paper form there or the electronic contact form. It seemed that every person had been well trained in how to pass clients from one system to another, to see if we would get too tired to file our complaints. No one has taken responsibility for this abysmal failure of the system, no one has apologized, and no one has offered any reimbursement beyond a meal ticket. I highly recommended that people pay an extra $20 for an airline where people are properly trained in how to use their computer systems, where they won't lie to your face, and where they may have a system where complaints and be properly filed and responded to. I have no idea how TAP Portugal is still in business."

This was not an Iberia flight it was a “Level” brand flight with a different flight number. The Iberia flight number never had a gate. The only way I knew it was my flight was that it was leaving at the same time as my scheduled flight and I found it suspicious that no ibera bound flights were showing up at the time my flight was scheduled. It felt extremely bait and switched. Level flight staff were not courteous or friendly. Rather cold and rarely offered drinks or acknowledged.

While my bags were left behind, using Apple Trackers I was able to head straight to lost and found and report the issue, they located them in Madrid, and said they would be on the next flight and delivered to my hotel. Great service, other than the left behind bags. It was a short layover, it happens.

Using hand signals to communicate, as it was an international flight with passengers speaking several languages. The crew stood at the entrances to the plane, watching."

Surprisingly, the ingredient lists were not available to flight attendants or passengers, and we were only aware of their presence because of seeing them, or having my allergic reaction (which I did) after avoiding the visible ones. The passenger in front of me put his seat in full recline for the entire 10 hour flight, including about 30 minutes when the seat was unoccupied. This put his seat about six inches in front of my chin and made it impossible for me to view the entertainment screen. It also made it difficult to get into and out of my seat. Several of the toilets had clear fluid covering the floor. I did not want to know is this was water or something else. Although our connecting flight in Miami went from gate E21 to gate E30, it took two hours (and 3,000 steps per FitBit) to get there because of being required to claim our luggage, leave security, recheck the bags, and then re-enter security. Our tickets did not provide for TSA-PRE despite having provided our known traveler number in advance. Many notices and directions were only available in Spanish. As they are based in a Spanish speaking country, this is perfectly reasonable, but their services are marketed to English speaking countries and it was a problem for me as a predominantly English-only speaker."

Do you know what it's like to have an unwanted man's private area in your face for several minutes while he holds a conversation, though you ask him to move, but he continues? It's disrespectful. Then when boarding, they opened the front and back doors, so people were coming in both ways. People in seat 7A were coming from the back to the front and people in 23C were coming from the front to the back. Literally a handful of people on this flight had consideration for others and let them pass. Others were just shoving their way through, or exhaustively waiting for someone to finally stop talking and get in their seat, so they could pass. It was a nightmare. And still, the crew did nothing."

There was no available entertainment whatsoever. In addition the food was extremely expensive and not particularly tasty. The plane was uncomfortable and smelled atrocious. The idea that food that you need to buy is so expensive is absurd. I was really blown away by how badly the plane smelled. It was almost as if I was in a bathroom. And on top of that I really felt very unsafe with children jumping up-and-down kicking people pulling their hair etc. While it isn't the job of the flight attendants to be parents, they certainly need to be aware of safety concerns for the rest of the passengers."

Once we landed in Monrovia, it took about 35mins for them to let us off the plane because the doors were not working and opening up. Once we finally got off the plane, it took a whole 2 hours for them to get our baggage e off the plane because spmething was wrong and they couldnot access the baggage to take it off. I am aware that planes can “fly with one engine”, but flying a plane with one engine along with it having electrical problems is not safe and A RISK! why take that risk of something bad happening, not only would lives of innocent people and their crew get lost, but that is a million dollar assest that could get lost and a PR nightmare. It is a shame they took that risk. They also dodnt tell us until we landed. Had I known before we took off at Freetown I would have gladly fot off and found another mode of transportation to get to my final destination. SN Brussels is know to send their sh*tty planes to Africa, because there are always problems with the planes heading to that continent. It is just another obvious proof of their racism."

I am used to boarding in zones so things tend to be less congested leading up to the jetway. - This may or may not have been something the airline could have changed but sitting in the plane for 5 hours waiting to de-ice was unacceptable. The entire food service was served in this time so no food was available for the 6 hour flight to Accra. Had we been able to wait in the terminal, passengers could get their own food and the food for the flight could have been saved. Also, they ran out of chicken dishes by the time I was served and I was left with fish only. Had I been a vegetarian, this would have been unacceptable."
