Nevýhody: "The Star Alliance flights aren't that cheap. Comparable price between Lufthansa, Swiss, SAS and Austrian. Lufthansa gives you food, and has friendly service. SAS gives you coffee and tea. On Austrian and Swiss I didn't get anything. For same price range and same alliance, that is a point I keep in mind. Now I mainly try to get onto Lufthansa flights (or Turkish Airlines which is my favorite). Even on Aegean, I got better food, and the magazine was better, plus there were some monitors to track the flight. Austrian feels cheaper than the others. That is the main point I didn't like."

Nevýhody: "Flight was late departing Cairo Changing flights from Cairo to Amsterdam was scheduled at 50 minutes. I asked the male flight attendant about changing airplanes, said our new gate was right next to our arriving gate. He said no problem. He failed to mention we had to go through customs and security again, and walk almost a Kilometer in the process. Fortunately they held the Amsterdam plane because many passengers would have missed it. I did not appreciate the lack of information from the flight attendant, however holding the plane was a godsend."

Nevýhody: "The seats are very uncomfortable on Austrian air. The only way I would fly them again would be if I had extra money for the exit rows with more leg room. Food isn't great, but no airline food is really great. Boarding was significantly delayed from what it said on the boarding pass, with no updates. But we arrived on time. Getting luggage after flight at Dulles took a really long time, but I think that is more of an airport issue as getting my luggage from another Austrian airlines flight to another airport was a breeze."
Výhody: "The seats were very nice, and I found it very pleasing that everything was colour coordinated. (the small details in red and the rest in gray). The flight attendants were so happy and upbeat, it lifted your mood as well! I believe that we left a few minutes early, as boarding was completed early. And thefood? Mind-blowing for airplane food. I really enjoyed this flight."
Nevýhody: "There wasn’t much I didn’t like about the flight. Sometimes the announcements were very slightly difficult to hear (accents and whatnot,) but you could still tell what they were saying."

When I got to checkout they said I had pay for the suitcase. Turns out my flight was economy 'light' flight and I had to go the Austrian airlines desk and pay euro 40 for my suitcase. Wish that would have been clear when I purchased the ticket. Also there is no clear info on what the cost is for your bag at what point in the check-in process."

Lufthansa should strongly consider increasing transit time to help passengers arriving from Bengaluru as the current time transit time of 1 hour 40 minutes appears inadequate and rushed and likely greater chance of missing that connecting flight to St Louis. This would encourage a lot of Indians coming from south India to take advantage of this service to Su Louis

The airport shuttle drive ran into a wall, causing a 20 min delay to a connect flight. He only spoke German and most if the travelers in the shuttle bus were non German speakers. The air hostesses were mostly brusk or downright rude.

It was only an hour flight, but at that, it was still late

When we were directed to security at Gate Z, there was a huge mob of people, not really in lines. We didn’t know what we were waiting for or where to stand, but we and others around us were very worried about missing our next flight. There was no Lufthansa representative to help. Finally someone directed some of us to a long roundabout back way to Gate Z security. We did get to our gate in time for boarding, only because it had been delayed. Then we sat in the plane for over half an hour. Altogether, it took off more than an hour late, so we missed our flight from Chicago to Minneapolis."

Reaching the gate for the Lufthansa flight was greeted with my name shout from a distance, and my apologise for being late were met with shrugs! Not only that, but my 3 checked bags are still in at IAD, I didn’t receive in CAI!"

Výhody: "All good - Lufthansa even handled an unexpected air traffic delay well, meaning my connection still worked. Great price too - booked at short notice and Lufthansa business was half the price of BA. Far better device too."

Nevýhody: "We were advised upon check in online that we could check in but if we needed additional carry on items (1 was free) we had to pay a secondary fee. When attempting to do that online we were unable to, even though it showed the price to do so online was cheaper than the price at the gate. They made us fully check these bags once we got there and we had to pay $40 instead of the 15 or so it stated online. We had to be shuttled to the aircraft and had to wait because the first bus was closed by the operator. We had to wait until the second round for the bus to come back. During the flight the pilot did not mention any turbulence however during the entirety of the flight, including leading up to the landing of the plane, we experienced extreme rocking of the plane back and forth ( I’m aware that this does occur during landings while loosing elevation but this was an extreme case of that) and caused my colleague to get motion sickness which neither of us ever get on flights. I am very dissatisfied with this flight and operations of the airline company."
Nevýhody: "Unfortunately the flight was delayed for 6 hours so we had hard time at Boryspil to book another flights to Los Angeles. After talking to 4 different people at cashier booths for an hour, we finely got tickets with Austrian lines to our destination city. I wish that Borispol Airport team could be more prepared(provide more customer service personal) to solve the problems such as a flight delay in order to serve better the passengers in stressful situations."

The boarding was very poorly managed by the same lady!"

Upon reaching cruising altitude and prior to dinner service, a Lufthansa stewardess reached across my midsection, activated the reclining mechanism and forcefully returned my seat to its upright position - waking me up to eat. (You may conduct your own investigation, but there was no prior announcement.) I politely declined, but was later denied dinner and breakfast. To clarify, I was unable to eat or sleep. This is utterly disgusting service. I am incredibly disappointed in Lufthansa for the way that I was treated aboard LH403. Unless I can be persuaded otherwise, I will be taking my business elsewhere. Garbage service! Shame on you Lufthansa!"

On a connect-up flight I was made to exit the airport's secured area and go again through TSA, and barely had time to catch my next flight with a little over 2 hrs of layover! After paying 100 Euroes for a bag that was a bit over weight, they broke one of the wheels.. And keep in mind that this was a high quality expensive bag!"

Nevýhody: "We checked in for our flights in Dubrovnik and were told we need to get the last boarding pass in Frankfurt. In Frankfurt, three agents were helping people when we arrived in the line. Twenty minutes later they were still with the same customers . Finally two additional agents appeared. We got our boarding passes, but were told we needed to hurry because they were already boarding. We made it because we ran as much as we could and arrived breathless and sweaty. Poor customer service!"

After that there are wrong arrows for navigation to gates (especially gate 16 and above) so if one follows them you go through at least half departure hall then you turn back and at the end of this hall you change floor and go to your gates :("

Separately, easyJet mobile app wouldn’t let my wife download boarding pass and security didn’t accept her check-in. App is useless as a result."
Nevýhody: "I was rudely asked to put the trolley in the devise to verify it fits the size regulations. It did fit and then because of the delay, I was forced to check the trolley into the belly of the plane rather than into the overhead as there was no room for it on board. This was an unnecessary inconvenience as everything in the trolley was necessary for the flight."

When you enter Terminal 1, you have to turn left and walk about 150 meters to an "assistance station" to get a wheelchair before you even check in for the flight. So for me it was walk 150 meters to wait for a wheelchair, be wheeled back to the airline's desk to check in, then go back the way you came to pass through security. (By the way, in the UK, you must remove all gels for a separate inspection, meaning toothpaste and shampoo, and they must be 100ml or less, or else you must check the bag.) After that rigmarole, you don't even go to the gate, because the flight doesn't have a gate assignment until about 35 minutes before departure. Then I had to climb stairs to get to the cabin. Shouldn't an airport in a market this large have jet bridges for every flight?"

I really dislike this because instead of making one's way direct to the gate and relaxing at the gate, one must wait in a crowded "shopping mall" with no view of the aircraft, and then when the gate is announced, make a mad rush to the gate. The rest of the world can give the gate well ahead of time, why can't Britain do the same?"

Nevýhody: "Firstly, their baggage policy apparently changed all of a sudden. When I flew with them just 4 days earlier FROM Tel Aviv, I was allowed to board with both a carry on and a hand bag, as I usually do with other international carriers and flights. With the return flight, however, you needed to pay for a service called "speedy board" to allow it. So, at the gate, they've told everyone to squeeze all their belongings into a single carry-on item, regardless of the weight and volume. They wouldn't even allow me to carry my DSLR camera separately, even though international flight regulations regard photography equipment as a separate item you're allowed to board with. After this craziness, all passengers were cramped in a hall between the terminal gate and the boarding gate. We waited there for an hour, and it was hot, humid and dense, with no chairs. Only 5-10 minutes before the scheduled departure, they started boarding passengers on the plane, what caused a 50 minutes delay in the take-off. Bottom line: Poor boarding conditions and vague baggage policy."

Then after standing there for 30-40 minutes, you go outside again to board the plan. On board, there were no amenities, but that was expected."
Nevýhody: "The crew were soooo rude to everyone! Their card machine to buy drinks wasn’t working so they had to take cash but they didn’t have change! They charged 4 pounds for water. Then they were selling scratch tickets AND perfume and jewelry! THEY EVEN SPRAYED PURFUME ON THE PLANE! It gave me such a trrrible headache and made me even more nauseous than I already was from the flight!!! So smelly!!! The seats didn’t recline And my husbands seat was ripped. So terrible all around!!!"

Consequently when boarding some people were turned away as they should have been elsewhere - Unecessary split seats - New cabin baggage rules - caused delay at the gate and could have been avoided by asking people to check in the excess earlier as other airlines do."

Nevýhody: "Was informed by an EXTREMELY rude employee when I came to check in that having my boarding pass printed would cost me 55 euros. I was perfectly willing to pay- I had not fully read all correspondence from Ryanair that warned me of this fact (my fault). My problem was with the extremely rude service. If I'm paying 55 euros for the service of printing a piece of paper, I expect it to be rendered with a little less active eye rolling. I also understand the need to discourage people from checking in at the counter to keep fares low, but this fee is not discouraging people- 10-20 euros would do that- 55 euros is clearly aimed to take advantage of people who do not frequently fly ryanair, or use mobile phone boarding passes (such as Americans with no service abroad). I'd suggest warning customers of this fact when they submit their original payment, where they are certain to see it. I often don't read correspondence suggesting I check in online because my phone is not capable of doing this and it's not a requirement of most airlines. If you truly want to avoid people checking in at the counter (and are not trying to just gauge people)- ensuring that people are informed of this fact by putting a notification where they are guarateed to see it (such as when they submit payment) would be more effective than a 55 euro fee."
