Checkin was greuling slow and an excruciating experience at the Indira Gandhi international airport. There were only 4 windows open to check in 300 passengers. It took me 50 mins to get to the window. I was there 3+ hours before departure time upon arrival from my domestic flight that arrived on Terminal 2. Security took another hour and no one from the flight ground staff came looking for me to expedite my security unlike the KLM staff. KLM staff was looking for their passengers in the security and immigration area for a good half hour. Also, I tried multiple times the day of my flight to WEB CHECKIN. the Qatar website and APP didn't let me do that either. I nearly missed my flight and was the last one to board!!!! I hope the airlines adapts to handle larger volume of passengers given the type of Airport rules and regulations. For example, IGA at New Delhi haa an additional Immigration step before security that's added an additional 45 min to my time to board the plane. Thank you and I hope a real human actually reads this survey response and it doesn't end up being processed by a computer bot that lacks human compassion and emotional IQ.

The boarding procedure was ABYSMAL. It is infuriating to be asked to "social distance" and wear masks when the airline is unable to conduct boarding in an organized and efficient way. The crew was totally incompetent in informing waiting passengers. No microphones. No digital display of boarding order. No staff assistance. Waiting for WAY too long with no explanation. It was perfectly awful. Food was eatable but completely tasteless. Not nearly enough liquid distribution.

Clean the toilet more often.

Disembarking was extremely time consuming; there were few signs instructing connecting passengers where to go; and the employees of the airport were extremely unhelpful and gave conflicting information. I made my flight with only minutes to spare after going through two security and passport checkpoints and sprinting an entire wing of the airport. I will never fly through Ataturk (or anywhere in Turkey) again."

The only currency exchange is on the other side of passport control so you have to use one of the ATMs and they only give you $100. The staff is unprofessional and seems clueless when you ask them for help. The kiosks are a nightmare and working with them is worse than working with the people. They freeze, and glitch and many of them just flat out don't work. Probably one of the worst airports I've ever been to."

Nevýhody: "The new carry-on laptop caused a delay of about 1 hr before departure and arrival an hour late, then claiming the laptop was almost a nightmare with long queue after picking up the luggages, one has to also claim their laptops in a make shift station In the baggage claims area. My suggestion is to put the computer laptops in alphabetic order by last name/surname, with the claim ticket,for easier access when picking up. As for departure, probably at check in to inform them that if you have a laptop carry-on so that can be taken care of right away as not to delay departure when they take it at the departing gate. This should be done at check in if in Turkey, or as a transferring traveler, to inform the traveler to take care of that as soon as arrived to transferring destination and for the traveler not to wait until boarding time at the boarding gate."

Výhody: "I got extremely sick on the flight from Istanbul to San Francisco. I now know I caught a stomach bug which hit me on the flights from Cape Town to Istanbul and then even worse from Istanbul to San Francisco. The flight from Istanbul was delayed by two hours due to customs delay for a passenger, as such there was a lot of recycled air. Take that and fact I'm pregnant and by time i started the 13 hour journey already felt sick. I started throwing up immediately and got sick 12 more times. the flight attendants brought me crackers, water and a cold towel and ice. My husband asked if he could pay to put me in business class but was not in airline policy. but i think given how sick and pregnant i was the flight attendant went to ask the captain if there was anything they could do to assist. they ended up moving me to business class to lie down and let me stay there for 3 hours. I got sick upon moving back but getting that rest really helped me. I felt like they genuinely cared about me and am so thankful to the two flight attendants who assisted: 1) Zumrat Bolukbas 2) Hatice (Cabin Chief) These women are amazing!"

I have traveled to over 40 countries in the past 30+ years and this was beyond the pale, absolutely a nightmare, and almost all of it (excepting the actual snow delay) in the airline's control. NEVER FLY THIS AIRLINE THROUGH ISTANBUL."

Výhody: "The whole experience was great. After an excellent meal which included drinks before and an excellent wine selection the flt attendants came through and made up a bed for you. This included a cover for the seat, a blanket and a big pillow. As opposed to United where you have to stick your feet in a little cubby the Turkish plane has just an open bench which opens to provide storage and gives ample foot room. I have never slept so much on a flt. Also he bathrooms are much more spacious than others."

That was awesome experience - very comfortable fully reclining seats, gourmet food and drinks, impeccable service, wide entertainment selection, etc. Even on the shorter leg flights we took (i.e. Istanbul to Rome and Dubrovnik to Istanbul) they served food (light snack). We flew economy from Istanbul back to SFO but got exit row seats so plenty of leg room and seats reclined good amount. Again, great service, food and entertainment. All the flights we had on our itinerary were newer planes. Turkish Airlines is so much better than American airlines!"

So having no access to water was not great (or planned out on their part). Also, no random sweeps of the aisle by the stewardess from time to time, to check on comfort. My seat kept being pushed by passenger behind me. Flight into Istanbul two weeks prior was great all around. This knee was filled with too many negative moments."

Výhody: "Upstairs deck for economy is a small space but is relatively quiet. Boarding was relatively quick through electronic gates where you scan your boarding card. Flight attendant was very personable. She was checking some passenger names as some seemed to have switched seats and remembered mine for the rest of the flight. Something you usually get in business class but a first for me in economy. They also came around several times during the flight with water/juice, and snacks. Entertainment was ok. A mixture of newer movies available."
Nevýhody: "Like all economy seating not much space especially when the person in front reclines their seat. This makes getting in and out of the seat a little difficult. Food a bit limited. 2 main meals for this flight (lunch/dinner) - chicken or pasta for the first one and beef or pasta (again) for the pre-landing meal. Also the attendant didn’t know the translation of the pasta dish from German to English so that was a bit disappointing. One thing to note. I flew Hamburg to Frankfurt to connect to the San Francisco flight with a 1 hour layover. You need to go through passport control in FRA and then I hustled to get to the gate. They were boarding as I arrived but maybe 10 minutes later and I would have missed my flight. No issues with the airline just a cautionary note on the layover time. I would likely book an earlier connecting flight to give a bit more time."

Crowd of people, huge lines, all disorganized. The control for EU passengers was not so crowded but you couldn't see it at the end of the line, so even people who didn't have to were all crowding in the same cue. Horrible experience and I almost missed my flight because of this mess."

Nevýhody: "No matter what you try to order on the airplane is totally disgusting. If it's not overloaded with cheese and tomato sauce then it's overcompensated with spices (salt or chili). I will never understand why it is so hard to provide simple, fresh and enjoyable meals. Chairs in economy are rarely cleaned up and one can see on the cushions that they are worn out and have lost their padding making the seats very uncomfortable. There was no foot rest available (which is such a simple addition that helps a lot) and the "holder pocket" on the seat in front was a simple net completely useless. Tables were dirty suggesting they were never cleaned and disinfected. Knowing that the highest source of viruses are the tray tables and the pockets in front I would expect attention to be focused on those- it not only impacts the health of the traveler but more important that of the crew. Why is it so hard to think of this business two fold: make revenue but mostly be kind to humans."

I also appreciate that they wake you up if you are asleep while meals are being passed out; I have missed meals on planes before which is not a great experience on a 12 hour flight."

The flight from Dubrovnik to Munich didn't have this extra cushion but the flight from Munich to San Francisco did. It's a terrible feature and should be removed. Lastly, the food on this flight was awful and it made me sick. I traveled in Croatia and Montenegro for 2 weeks and didn't get sick once but I got sick from the airline food on the way home, that's pretty disgusting."
Výhody: "Lufthansa really knows how to run an airline, there was a one day strike the day before our departure for SFO, we thought for sure the airport would be a disaster, all through the strike we were updated on our flight status via email, when we arrived to the airport from Florence, we were in a brand new airport terminal, the flow was flawless the plane was on time and you would never know there was any disruption, unlike the US the airport is a mess for days, we would fly Lufthansa anytime."

The crew ended up gate checking one for me in Frankfurt which was nice. But I would have paid not to carry that dumb thing around with me through the giant Frankfurt airport. Other than the one desk woman in Prague, everything else was good."

My carry-on weighted only 5 kilos. I was extremely upset the way I was treated w/ the boarding agent behind the counter in Prague. On the top of that, her and the supervisor were very rude to my mom as they told her she had an extra carry-on which wasn’t the case. She traveled w/ a small briefcase where her mask for sleep apnea was. This is not considered an additional carry-on. The boarding agent (Czech lady and her supervisor) were not only rude but obviously lacked knowledge as well. My carry-on suitcase would easily fit in the overhead bin plus there was plenty of space inside the plane as it the flight wasn’t completely full."

Nevýhody: "Non-A380 plane feels very old now and in need of an overhaul. My biggest complaint was the food. On the outbound leg (SFO-LHR) I had the pasta dish which was dry and poorly cooked so on the return flight I opted for the beef dish which was ok. I thought that the pasta was just a one-off issue. When the pre-landing meal arrived, it was so bad I had to look at the menu to see what it was (pea mousse with artichoke and almonds). It was completely inedible. Finally the amenities bag consisted of hand cream, face lotion and lip balm as well as the std toothpaste, socks, eyeshades etc. in the past there were far more items in the bag. Overall it feels like BA has cut costs and I had a reasonable deal on my flight price which I was willing to pay just to have a lie flat bed. I can't imagine if I paid $5K for this flight and had the same experience. I recently flew Emirates from SFO to Dubai in business class and it was comparable to first class in BA."

The seats are very close together, making it very difficult to get in and out, particularly if the person in front of you puts the seat back. Heathrow London is tolerable if one is going to London, but as a place to change planes, it's exhausting. The various walks feel like mazes, and going from one terminal to another, even by tram, is time-consuming and tiring. We fly to Europe often, but we will try to avoid both British Airways (Airbuses, at least) and Heathrow."

I finally had to drive back to the airport to talk to a human....a 5 hr round trip. No laptop turned in and it didn't turn back up in London. So clearly, cleaning crew stole it. That in its own right is a problem but NO ONE returning my calls. Completely unacceptable. I got the duty manager's email and emailed him TWICE over TWO days before he returned my email. I highly doubt I will fly BA again, I'm afraid."

Due to a security snafu unrelated to the airline, we arrived at the gate after boarding was over but the gate crew were gracious and welcoming and let us board. The male flight attendant was quite nice. The entertainment screen choices were decent, and the hand-held controller was a great improvement over the touch-screen variety. There were multiple lavatories available. There was a decent amount of space by the lavatories that we could use for stretching and exercising. The wrap they gave us for high tea was pretty good."

I was sitting on the right next to the window, and there was no room for me to extend my right leg while facing forward; I had to twist to my left and extend my legs under the middle seat in front of me (fortunately my wife was next to me so I could do this). In addition, the passenger seated in front of me decided to recline his seat, nearly knocking over my drinks in the process, which left me with very little usable space. I haven't ever felt that cramped on an international flight. The main meal was very low quality. I had the pasta and it was quite awful; the sides were quite bad, as well. One of the female flight attendants was rather testy and unpleasant throughout the flight. She, and another female flight attendant, seemed put out when passengers asked questions about the food offerings, as though we should already have known what was being served. One passenger had just woken up and seemed confused and the flight attendant was quite impatient with him. The flight attendants were quite stingy with the water and only poured out a little bit at a time; they also came very infrequently, which meant that we had to keep pressing the call button to ask for more (which made us feel bad about bothering them). They would not give us a whole bottle of water, saying that there was not enough, but did, when we asked, provide multiple plastic cups of water at a time, which just seemed wasteful (of cups, not water). The timing of drink service was also perplexing: they did not offer drinks at least 45 minutes before or after bringing the boxes of salty "movie snacks"."
Výhody: "Nothing"
Nevýhody: "The BA ticket counter did not open early enough with enough staff to get all passengers checked in time. As such, the plane was delayed and we missed this connecting flight. Other people were in the same boat. We had no chance to make our connection but others did. While the flight crew offered weak apologies advising they had no control, they made no effort to help connecting passengers in ways the could control. Such as asking all passengers to remain seated allowing connecting passengers off the plane first. Something I've seen done on many other airlines numerous times."
Výhody: "This was my first time on an Airbus A380 and I must say that I'm still in awe of how an aircraft this large can be so quiet and smooth, let alone get in the air. Boarding was smooth. Entertainment was great and the food (depending on what you got) was okay. The inflight crew was nice and helpful."
Nevýhody: "Economy seats are very uncomfortable. I am 6'4 and there isn't that much space. It's even worse when you have a kid sitting in front with his seat reclined all the way back - so the little room I had to start with became even worse. Not to mention he kept rocking his chair back in forth, passed gas about 5 times, felt the need to stretch his arm behind him 3 times so his hand was blocking my screen. I really never got comfortable in my seat during the 11 hour flight. For a plane this large, i would of expected a little bit more comfort, especially when I felt it on AA 777"
Nevýhody: "A lot of stress: our 1st leg IAD to Dublin was cancelled, than we got 2 set of tickets rebooked. On the way back there was a stress since we had a "problem with the ticket" Apparently the Aer Lingus made all those mistakes."
Nevýhody: "We flew with BA from Prague via Heathrow to San Diego on May 30 just day after they started operating normally after computer glitch. From Prague we were on time, When boarding in London started we were told to sit down again claiming Boeing 777 had equipment problem and they were waiting for parts to fix it. Our departure was delayed by 1 hour. Seats in economy class are really cramped so when seats are declined person behind can not eat without banging head into the back rest. Difficult to get in and out of seat as well. Arm rests do not come all the way up so one has to squat to avoid being hit by arm rest. Not very pleasant on 11 hour long flight. Joe"

Nevýhody: "My husband and I weren't seated together. No matter how we try to change or ask for it even before check-in we couldn't change our seat locations. I am 5 months pregnant and it was not comfortable not having husband close to me, when in case of emergency I need something and he is not able to help right away."
Výhody: "The food and entertainment met our expectations. The crew was attentive and provided good service throughout our flight."
Nevýhody: "I prepaid for 3 seats in the front row of a coach section according to the diagram provided when I paid $75 per seat to reserve them. If I had known we would be placed back a row and not able to be more comfortable I would not have paid that fee. I do feel as though I was scammed for the $225 for reserving the seats."
Výhody: "Crew was great and very helpful."
Nevýhody: "The air pressure in the cabin didn't seem right, feet were swollen more than other international flights I have taken."
Výhody: "A very long flight but decent food, good entertainment and leg room surprisingly not bad"
Výhody: "I was traveling alone with my baby. Everyone was very helpful"
Výhody: "Travelled in business class so priority boarding was good Well planned boarding by different seat sections Crew attentive when needed but not intrusive"
Nevýhody: "Food selection not great Video screen brightness not working on my screen and so very difficult to watch movies"

Nevýhody: "Not being able to select seating for free at time of ticket purchase"
Nevýhody: "Took 1 1/2 hour to check in at counter. Agent spoke minimal english and directed Czech in one line and all others in another line. even when that line was only 2 or 3 persons and someone walked up only waited 5 minutes our line hardly moved. The agent did not care or understood that a lot of people may miss the flight. We arrived 2.5 hours early and barely made the flight."

Nevýhody: "Terrible food, no option available online to order special meals, the restrooms were filthy and not looked after. We are never flying either British Airways or Aer Lingus in future. It was a big mistake !"

Nevýhody: "We booked on Kayak for a British Airways flight international--but it was a bait and switch. We ended up flying on American Airlines--the WORST! And our whole reason for booking British Airways was to avoid any US airline... We paid a premium, plus Kayak then sends you to a third party processor that charges you another $100 booking fee! American Airlines was terrible! Not even an entertainment center on on this flight (OLD PLANE THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN OUT OF SERVICE!). THIS WAS A BARE BONES PLANE> We will NEVER use KAYAK again."
Nevýhody: "The food vendor did not supply the right number of each type of meal so they ran out of 2 types of meals almost immediately. This made for frustrated customers & BA flight attendants apologizing for things that were not their direct mistake."
Nevýhody: "They ran out of food option so at a certain point the only option was mushroom risotto. Also my husban ordered a lactose free meal which he received but all the other snacks and meals on the flight included some type of lactose product."
