With no attendant at the location and a long line, I wasn’t sure how to proceed. There were plenty of people having the same difficulty. It took about 12 minutes to occomplish a minut long job."
Nevýhody: "We were advised upon check in online that we could check in but if we needed additional carry on items (1 was free) we had to pay a secondary fee. When attempting to do that online we were unable to, even though it showed the price to do so online was cheaper than the price at the gate. They made us fully check these bags once we got there and we had to pay $40 instead of the 15 or so it stated online. We had to be shuttled to the aircraft and had to wait because the first bus was closed by the operator. We had to wait until the second round for the bus to come back. During the flight the pilot did not mention any turbulence however during the entirety of the flight, including leading up to the landing of the plane, we experienced extreme rocking of the plane back and forth ( I’m aware that this does occur during landings while loosing elevation but this was an extreme case of that) and caused my colleague to get motion sickness which neither of us ever get on flights. I am very dissatisfied with this flight and operations of the airline company."

Nevýhody: "for 3 years, 90% of my flights from Beijing were delayed or cancelled. Beijing International Airport is the worst airport ever. About my flight from Beijing to Munich this time, we were stranded on the runway INSIDE the plane for 5 hours w/o food and water for the first 4 hours!"

If it is reclined , this distance is reduced to 6-8 inches. Too, too close. And reclining does not add much to the comfort of the sitting position. When the person in front of me reclines, then I am almost forced to recline so I have enough room."

The only next flight to TLV, Israel, was on the 2nd of Nov- 2 days later! I had to wait a whole day in the airport for another flight with another airline (ELAL) which I paid for it 2900 RMB! It's really unfair, and the women in the check-in desk wouldn't help me nor give me any info in order to book a new ticket :( It was a horrible experience, and I definitely wont fly with Hainan Airlines again."

Quilted comforters instead of thin polyester sheets. They even offer pajamas and bed making! Choices for food were very broad to fit all palates. Great selection of international films from all over the world. Our plane had a dedicated chef (!) preparing food fresh both ways. At the end, she helped with cleanup. Bathrooms were cleaned frequently. Flight attendants were very attentive. Best sleep I have had on a plane"
Nevýhody: "You are not allowed to use your smartphone on the plane, even in airplane mode. Apparently this is a Chinese airline rule. I had downloaded books from the library to listen and read, but could not. However did see some great movies"

Then the doors were not closed for more than 10 minutes after all passengers were on board, again no announcement, no we’re sorry. The beverage selection was only water, juice or tea. For food no veggie option was available. The crew’s English was pretty bad. The cabin was not clean - the side of a seat more in front was sprayed with some brown liquid. Getting out of the plane we had to wait very long because every passenger de boarding had to be checked on a list, and only one Hainan staff was doing this. Overall I do not understand how this can be a five star airline."
Nevýhody: "If there are empty first row seats, with extra leg room, I don't see why you couldn't let people use them just because they didn't pay the extra $100. It's absurd that once we are 40 thousand feet in the air you would enforce keeping those seats empty instead of increasing the happiness/comfort level of at least some people aboard. Also the food quality should improve."

They communicated well in Chinese but I can imagine it could be challenging for non-Chinese speakers as the flight crew's English ability was limited."
Nevýhody: "Ground service was absolutely HORRIBLE. 1. When I inquired about a possible upgrade, they demanded that I pay the price ($3000+) IN CASH. 2. I had a transfer within China and I had to re-check-in and pick up my luggage during the transit stop. Completely unreasonable. 3. When I asked the gate agent about how I can get help during the transit because I'm short on time, they simply said "well you'd better hurry up." I cannot imagine how a Skytrax 5-star airline can have such horrible ground service."

The flight attendant was rude to us, but extremely nice to the Chinese citizen sitting next to us (several times skipped us when delivering snacks - we were awake). At one point, I had to go back and get a snack from the back). There was no comfortable seats in the Beijing Airport area where we were cornered (and the food was overpriced). They ran out of drinks. More than disappointing"

I got a "window seat," but my row didn't actually have a window-- it was just a structural wall. That was a disappointment."

Nevýhody: "This is a review regarding the flight from Montreal to Guangzhou, not the return flight. 1. HanNan air line use same plane for international and domestic flight, so in BeiJing airport, you end up walked all the way from international terminal to domestic terminal(which can not be avoided), and have to take shuttle from the gate travel back to the international terminal. It is not nice in winter or bad weather or travel with kids. 2. For traveler comes from other city with connection flight, HN air line is not able to provide the boarding pass of next connection flight after oversee flight. It is kind of hassle. On the returning flight, the on board entertainment system did not work even after restart. No any movie or TV, only music and games were available."

The Hainan counter staff routinely refused to enter an Alaska Airlines mileage plan number (a partner airline) into their system unless forced."

Seating arrangements are such that no passenger is more than one person from the aisle. Restrooms were clean. Free WiFi and power outlet. Seems more geared toward Chinese travelers yet easy for English speakers to navigate. On time both ways."

The drinks are in tiny cups and they don't have cans, so you have two sips and have to hunt for more. The movie selections are limited and it is the same coming and going. Also it was really dumb to not allow us to have water boarding the plane as we just filled up our water bottle right by the boarding gate and you have to go through another bag search and no water? Like I said, with the little cups they give you, I really needed my water bottle. Also nobody was watching the shuttle bus, they keep sending people to board like sardines."

Both airports totally understaffed. Awful experience.

Listening covid restrictions and following them is completely nonsense. Avoid touching others? How when plane is full and everybody who pass around touchs me. Keep distance?? How???? Avoid walking in the plane but also wash your hands regularly with soap and water? How? I should avoid walking but at the same time you want me to wash hand regularly? It means i have to walk up and down. What is regularly for you? Every 15mins? Every hour? Every day? It is so stupid what you are telling that my brain stops to work.

Výhody: "From downloading the KLM app to the final touchdown of my final flight, everything was an ease, checking in, the option to change my seat, the service received was great."

Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

If KLM are going to charge extra for a window seat, then they should make sure there is a window there! If the seat had actually had a window it would have been an excellent flight."

When we arrived to the plane, they had both entrances open so that those sitting near the rear of the plane would enter from the back. Nevýhody: "They have a terrible communication problem, they never communicated why the flight was late, they never communicated what they were doing or what was happening. Bad customer service. Bad communication with the client. They told us when I asked several times that we would not lose our connection and that everything was fine and that was not the case. We lost the connection. No one told us anything. Another problem was that the girl in the boarding process removed the suitcases tickets from the boarding pass and did not want to return them, and held it without any cause. The flight staff went looking for us. Pretty sad and disappointed by their service. I understand that they were causes outside the airline but must communicate to the client. They cannot remain silent and say nothing."
Výhody: "The gentleman at the check out his name was Omar went over and above the call of duty for Customer Service me being an American he walked me through each step of using flybe via air France and paying for checking my bags and even the carry on luggage and getting me through security etc."

We were 50 minutes late leaving. This resulted in many of us either missing or having extremely tight (stressful) connections at CDG Paris."
