The seats are far more comfortable and larger, the amount of legroom is far superior, you have much more personal space, and the craft is cleaner. Flight Attendants are fantastic! They provide excellent personal care, and are there for everything. They are supremely polite and courteous, and bring things in mediately. Very often anticipating your needs. This is what flying used to be like on United and American. But those people have completely forgotten what service is. Qatar is a 5 star airline. United and American, to my view, are 2 star at best."
Nevýhody: "Extra baggage was charged $250 for 1 extra baggage when other airlines change $70. Also on the Qatar Airway site it states that after 3 hours of the flight if seats are available business class upgrade would cost much less and this was not the case. They wanted $2000 for the upgrade."

The menu choices were amazing and the wine selections were very good. What made the difference was the attentiveness of the cabin crew. I would particularly like to commend the purser and the flight attendants on flight 707 DOH-IAD for their assistance and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty"
Nevýhody: "Flight 707 was supposed to have the new Qsuites in Business Class, so it was disappointing that without prior notice the airline switched to an aircraft with normal (but quite good) business class seating. Nevertheless, the purser and the flight attendants made the flight memorable in a very positive way."

Nevýhody: "carry-on did not fit on center overhead compartment unless I put it side ways (Same carry-on suitcase fit nicely on Emirates airplanes, so the carry-on overhead compartments have been made smaller on Qatar on purpose or by engineering error, and I will not fly Qatar airlines again. Less food options. I went to the Gally and they only had kitkat bars for food. Emirates offer fruit, sandwiches, and many choices at ALL TIMES of the flight for economy class passengers. Entertainment computer (Android based system) ran slow and out of memory at times. Seats were not comfortable for 12hrs flight. My butt was starting to hurt. I did not have this issues on Emirates flights."

The announcement about customs paperwork was long and done 2 times in English and 2 times in Arabic. There safety video is soooo long and again is done in two languages. It was just all too much. Besides that everything was great."

Tgere was no announcement of any kind (found out later, Turkish sir doesn't do announcement at the Istanbul airport. No clue as to why). Thought, tgere was another delay and by the time I asked, it was too late to catch my flight and that's when I got a full dose of every single person w Turkish air trying to stiff me with the most outrageous penalty for changing Nguyen my ticket. Started out at $1114 on a $758 ticket, then went down to $925 and if I stay over night, down to $750. Seriously? Rude, talking down at me and telling me that if I don't pay the penalty, my return ticket will be cancelled. I keep getting bounced from one person to another being told to wait here and wait there then I finally got so sick of all of it, bought a new connecting flight online, spending the night in Istanbul and will see what will happen w my return flight to the US. I call this 'theft' as if i buy an entire new ticket from Istanbul to Cairo then back to the US online, it will cost me less than the penalty they're trying to get me to pay. Shame on you Turkish airline!! You'd think w all the issues they're having w tourism in their country these days they'd care about not doing this kind of mistreatment of their clients."

I know the airline has nothing to do with it but they should pressure the airport to have more safety for the passengers or find an airport in another country that is safer like Macedonia or Bulgary. Just as a temporary thing while things become safer in Turkey. In other words, only stop in Turkey for people who is flying to that country. Connecting flights should stop somewhere else."

I was randomly asked to check in my standard size carry one although many passengers with larger bags were allowed to take them with them. Overall there was a lack of planned approach."

Add to it the fact I caught a movie I'd missed seeing at cinema plus even getting a few hours sleep, this was probably one of my better long haul flights in recent times."
Nevýhody: "We were advised upon check in online that we could check in but if we needed additional carry on items (1 was free) we had to pay a secondary fee. When attempting to do that online we were unable to, even though it showed the price to do so online was cheaper than the price at the gate. They made us fully check these bags once we got there and we had to pay $40 instead of the 15 or so it stated online. We had to be shuttled to the aircraft and had to wait because the first bus was closed by the operator. We had to wait until the second round for the bus to come back. During the flight the pilot did not mention any turbulence however during the entirety of the flight, including leading up to the landing of the plane, we experienced extreme rocking of the plane back and forth ( I’m aware that this does occur during landings while loosing elevation but this was an extreme case of that) and caused my colleague to get motion sickness which neither of us ever get on flights. I am very dissatisfied with this flight and operations of the airline company."

I'm not sure why they wouldn't want the extra money from me?"

Výhody: "Check-in was easy, and boarding went quickly. I got the seat of my choice in Economy, and was very comfortable. Food coming from Germany was good, especially the breads! The crew was numerous and very attentive and pleasant. This was my first time flying Luftansa, and I would definitely fly with them again."
Nevýhody: "The biggest complaint I have was that one of the restrooms in my section was out-of-order. That meant a lot of waiting, but everyone was understanding and good about taking turns. The movie selection could have used a bit more mystery type films, but that is my taste. I did watch a few movies I hadn't seen."

No further instruction was given for the gate check process, hence I rolled the small suitcase to the entry of the aircraft, where the Purser asked why I would wish to check the bag. When I recounted the story, he chuckled and said, bring it aboard, there is no reason to check that bag."

Nevýhody: "The vegetarian option was very poor. Frankly a pizza snack in place of supper is not what I expect on a cross-Atlantic flight."

My only trouble with the crew was that announcements were sometimes too quiet to hear at all, which I hardly cared about anyway (seat belts, please). The movie selection was unexpectedly good, as was the music section. Books were meh."
Nevýhody: "I was not comfortable after about four hours, my biggest problem being I had already been riding in an airplane for a total of six hours that day. Food was fine, but came with salt, which was nice. I don't expect a four course meal on an airplane, but I didn't eat with gusto. The headphones provided were lousy, but I just plugged in my own set."
Výhody: "First and foremost, I appreciate the crew refusing to take off until the broken valve was absolutely perfect. Although this took well over an hour after we were supposed to take off, my priority was to come home safely to my kids. So thank you for making that happen!"
Nevýhody: "As a result of the broken valve, we were all sitting on the runway past 9:30 or so. It would have been nice to be offered a cup of tea or snack in that time. Additionally, the video screen assigned to my seat was not working properly. It was a touch screen, and something was malfunctioning. Perhaps someone can keep a closer eye on these details."
